bishop last Bishop Last

Interim Priest for St. Mark's:

Bishop Michael Last began serving on April 19, 2017 as Intentional Interim Rector.  He resides in Mason City and is in Fort Dodge on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.  Bishop Last is guiding St. Mark's in assessing where they are as a community of faith and to consider where this next phase of ministry might lead them.  His goals as "Intentional Interim" are to identify strenghts and explore new possibilities that God may be calling St. Mark's to consider.

During this transition time, Bishop Last is "preparing the way for the calling of a permanent rector" by helping the church to form a vision for where it wants to be in the future and determine what skills the new rector will need to advance that vision.

Please say this prayer on a daily basis, and pray for the Vestries and Search Committees:

O  faithful God, as your people, we cherish our memories and our history as a sacred gift.  We ask you to guide us in our time of transition.  We need your wisdom, that we may be receptive to change, conversion, and growth.  We need your grace to redirect our hearts, that we may be willing to offer ourselves in joyful service.  Do not allow fear, ignorance or pride to limit the work of your Spirit, nor custom to prevent the creativity within us from bearing fruit.  Open our hearts to the call of the Gospel.  Give us courage and renewed hope, that we may meet the challenge of being the church of our time.

We  ask this in Jesus' name.  Amen
